2020 Honda Passport vs. 2020 Chevrolet Blazer

The Honda Passport is the latest Honda SUV to enter the market. Introduced last year, it is a mid-size SUV with 5 rows of seats that emphasizes versatility and comfort while offering top-level off-road capabilities to its owner. Exactly like the first Honda Passport introduced in the early 1990s.

The Passport joins another brand-new model in the mid-size SUV segment, the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer. It too has a well-known name and it also offers a slightly more dynamic personality compared to other five-seat mid-size SUVs. Now, if you’re not sure which model is right for you, this comparison should help.

For starters, the 2020 Honda Passport stands out from the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer with its interior space, comfort and fuel economy. For example, the 2020 Honda Passport offers between 1,430 litres and 2,854 litres of cargo space while the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer offers 864 litres to 1,818 litres. The difference is significant when all the seats are in place, but it is even more noticeable when the seats are lowered. That’s almost 1,000 litres of extra cargo space compared with the Blazer which is quite significant.

The 2020 Honda Passport is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine developing 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque which is slightly less than the 3.6-litre V6 found in the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer. That said, the Passport reaches 100 km/h and goes from 80 km/h to 120 km/h in the same amount of time as the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer. In addition to being as powerful as the Blazer, the Passport is much more economical with an average fuel consumption rating of 9.8 litres per 100 kilometres compared to 12.4 litres per 100 kilometres for the Blazer.
