Centennial Auto Group Congratulates Winners Of Car And Driver 10 Best Awards For 2020: Telluride, Accord, CX-5
November 23 2020, Centennial Auto Group
Awards in the automotive industry are a dime a dozen. Countless vehicles win awards for excelling – if only in one particular aspect – within the confines of their own segments.
But there are certain awards that are much, much, much harder to win. Car And Driver's annual 10 Best awards are notoriously challenging to break into because every vehicle is competing against every other vehicle.
Car And Driver doesn't just include all-new or significantly revised vehicles for the 2021 model year, but also all of last year's winners. Only vehicles under USD $90,000 are eligible, but that's a fairly high ceiling. "Any newcomer that wants to run with the best," Car And Driver says, "is going to have to be better than at least one vehicle that made the cut in 2020."
For the 2021 10 Best Awards, there were 57 contending vehicles. And we're very happy to discover that three Centennial vehicles earned their place on the 10 Best vehicles. We're even happier to tell you that each of these vehicles are repeat winners.
- • The Kia Telluride, in its second year of eligibility, earned a Car And Driver 10 Best award for a second consecutive year.
- • The Mazda CX-5 is a Car And Driver 10 Best winner for a fourth consecutive year.
- • 2021 marks the 23rd consecutive year – and the 35th year overall – in which the Honda Accord is a Car And Driver 10 Best winner. No vehicle has even come close to matching the Accord's consistency on Car And Driver's list of the 10 Best vehicles.
Car And Driver says the Telluride is, "better than it needs to be."
The Mazda CX-5, Car And Driver says, is "imbued with the feel of a performance vehicle, but it's also practical, refined, and thoughtfully designed."
When it comes to the Accord, Car And Driver says, "It's a reasonably priced, generously sized four-door that offers the refinement of a luxury car, the precise moves of an upmarket sedan, and the sensibility of, well, a Honda."
