Centennial Brands Win 7 AutoTrader Awards For 2022

Hondas, Kias, and Mazdas won a total of seven 2022 AutoTrader Awards after the publication "considered every single vehicle available for Canadians to buy."

The Honda Civic, all-new in 11th-generation form for the 2022 model year, didn't just win Best Compact Car. The Civic was also named by AutoTrader as 2022's Best Overall Car. "The Honda Civic has consistently been Canada’s best-selling passenger car and for good reason."

One size down from the compacts, AutoTrader named the Kia Rio as 2022's Best Subcompact Car. This is the second consecutive win for the Rio. "The 2022 Kia Rio has more going for it than just its affordable price, though. It also offers an impressive array of standard equipment considering its low point of entry, including an eight-inch display screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, and heated seats, a must-have for our winters."

The Rio wasn't Kia's only win in the 2022 AutoTrader Awards. The Best 3-row SUV for 2022 is the Kia Telluride. 2022 is the third consecutive year in which the Telluride has won an AutoTrader Award. "Unlike some half-hearted efforts in the class, this SUV’s attractive and high-quality finishes are not limited to the front row of chairs, ensuring no passenger is made to feel like a second-rate citizen just because they’re not sitting at the helm."

Back on the car side of the business, what's the Best Performance Car Under $50,000? M-I-A-T-A: Miata Is Always The Answer. The 2022 Mazda MX-5 is the best-selling roadster of all time. We've already said 2021 will go down as Mazda's Year Of The MX-5 Miata in PEI. As this car gets better and better, the market's eyes appear to have been re-opened. "The droptop Mazda has always been, and continues to be, a standout when it comes to driver satisfaction and engineering excellence, providing a uniquely joyful experience behind the wheel."

The MX-5 wasn't Mazda's only AutoTrader Award winner. The Best Subcompact SUV is the 2022 Mazda CX-30. Only a few years ago, auto industry analysts weren't sure if this segment would take off. Now it's one of Canada's largest and fastest-growing. "While the 2.5L turbo should be the go-to engine for people who prioritize performance, the CX-30 retains its fun-to-drive nature no matter which of the above engines the buyer opts for."

Meanwhile, the Civic wasn't Honda's only winner. AutoTrader has named the Honda Accord as 2022's Best Family Sedan. "The Accord offers such a well-rounded blend of performance, practicality, comfort, and convenience that it nudged out the competition to take the top spot."
