Consumer Reports Says Mazda Is the Most Reliable Mainstream Auto Brand On The Market In 2019

According to a Consumer Reports survey of over 400,000 vehicles from model years 2000 to 2019, the most reliable mainstream brand on the market is Mazda.

In fact, the most reliable vehicle on the market is a Mazda, too: the most famous Mazda of all, the MX-5 Miata.

Remember, these aren't just results based on brand new cars in their first 90 days of operation. Consumer Reports is looking way back across two decades to get a real sense of what owners have experienced over the last year.

Problems of all types are included, but Consumer Reports heavily weights more significant issues, de-prioritizing issues related to broken trim and in-car electronics in favour of major engine trouble, transmission problems, or anything that takes a vehicle out of service. In other words, this is serious business.

In the end, Mazda joins Lexus and Toyota on the podium and also lands three specific vehicles on Consumer Reports list of the 10 most reliable vehicles: MX-5 Miata, CX-3, and CX-9.

It's because of this sure-footed reliability that Mazda provides Canada's only unlimited mileage warranty. No matter how far you drive, your Mazda is covered for the duration of the term.

Whether you regularly commute between Tyne Valley and Tierra-Del-Fuego, whether it always seems as though your kids have hockey tournaments in Quebec rather than Cornwall, whether your roadtrips are more likely to end up in Malibu instead of Montague – Mazda's unlimited mileage warranty won't max out.
