This Is The 2022 Kia Carnival, The Sedona's Replacement, And It's Incredible
February 23 2021, Centennial Kia
It was just a regular Tuesday afternoon in late February. Or at least it was, until Kia unveiled this: the 2022 Carnival.
This MPV is the next-generation three-row people carrier from Kia, a direct replacement for the Sedona. Due to arrive at Centennial Kia this spring, the Carnival bears a close familial resemblance to Kia's utility vehicle family, especially the three most recent additions: Seltos, Sorento, and Telluride. The Carnival will be available in five trim levels, from the entry-level $34,495 LX through to the LX+, EX, EX+, and top-of-the-line SX. All will be powered by a 290-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 with either 7 or 8-passenger seating configurations.
The 2022 Kia Carnival sits on a new platform. It's called N3, and it makes the Carnival lighter yet stronger, quieter yet safer, more stable and more aerodynamic. Given the Carnival's top priority – moving people from place to place – Kia placed a great deal of emphasis on advanced safety tech. As a result, standard features include smart cruise control, high beam assist, forward collision-avoidance assist with junction timing, rear occupant alert, parking distance warning, driver attention warning, and lane keeping/follow assist. As you move up the model line you'll also find a surround-view monitor, blind-spot view monitor, highway driving assist, and safe exist assist.
For those who want the latest whiz-bang gadgets, the new Carnival will be available with a wide range of cool features: wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, wireless phone charging, multi-Bluetooth connectivity, up to nine USB ports, UVO Intelligence, and Bose audio. Oh, and dont forget the spectacular 12.3-inch TFT-LCD gauge cluster that flows into the 12.3-inch centre display.
Comfort and convenience are both key in an MPV, so the 8-seat Carnival features a long-sliding second row seat to aid third-row access. The SX model features VIP lounge seats in the second row – heated and cooled – with leg and head rests. It's the best way to travel.
And perhaps best of all, the 2022 Kia Carnival looks amazing. Check out the huge photo gallery below, and stay tuned for updates as we receive full specs for each model in the lineup.
