This Is The All-New 2022 Nissan Pathfinder - Fifth-Generation Model On Sale In Summer 2021
February 04 2021, Centennial Nissan
Scheduled to arrive in showrooms in the summer of 2021, this all-new fifth-generation 2022 Nissan Pathfinder seats up to eight for the first time, is stuffed full of technology, and now features a 6,000-pound towing capacity.
It's been 35 years since the Pathfinder began turning heads, but in the second decade of a new millennium, SUV owners want even more. More comfort, more capability, more technology, more power – and they want all of that mixed in with the versatility and ruggedness of the original Pathfinder.
So, Nissan delivers. The new Pathfinder offers available second-row captain's chairs, an eight-seat configuration that still allows space for four golf bags behind the rear row, and a 7-position Drive and Terrain Mode Selector. The Pathfinder is ready for any road with Standard, Sport, Eco, Snow, Sand, Mud/Rut, and Tow settings. There are beefier tires, too: 255mm for better grip in every circumstance.
The new Pathfinder will be powered by a 284-horsepower direct-injection V6. It's linked to an advanced 9-speed automatic that offers a wide ratio for better performance and better fuel economy.
More highlights:
- • Behind the third row you can fit a 120-quart (114L) cooler. With the rear rows folded, the Pathfinder can swallow a 4x8 sheet of plywood.
- • Second-row seating includes EZ FLEX one-touch release.
- • There's acoustic laminated front glass, thicker glass in the second row, and more insulation so sound absorption is improved by 60%.
- • A 10-way power driver's seat is standard. So is tri-zone automatic climate control.
- • Standard tech includes Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Available is a 12.3 inch digital dashboard and a 9-inch touchscreen, plus Nissan's brilliant Around View Monitor. 13-speaker Bose audio is also available.
- • Nissan Safety Shield 360 – automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, auto high beams – is standard. So, too, is rear automatic braking, forward collision warning, intelligent driver alertness, blind spot intervention, intelligent lane intervention, rear door alert, and 10 airbags.
- • ProPILOT Assist is sandard on even the entry-level S and SV upgrade models.
- • ProPILOT Assist with door-to-door navigation "can proactively reduce speed for upcoming freeway curves or junctions and also help the driver slow for freeway exits."
The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder will land in Centennial Nissan showrooms in Charlottetown and Summerside this summer. We know it will be available in S, SV, SL Premium and Platinum variants, and as we gather more info on the trim breakdowns and pricing we will be providing plenty of updates.
