Thriving At The Drive-In: Our Tips For Making The Most Of Movie Night
August 10 2022, Centennial Auto Group
If you’re anything like Danny Zuko, the last thing you want is to be stranded at the drive-in (or worse, branded a fool). Whether your car is automatic, systematic, or hydromatic, follow our guide to making the most of your night at the Brackley Drive-In in your very own greased lightnin’!
What To Pack
Before you hit the road, there are a few essentials you’ll want to make sure you pack ahead of time.
- Bug spray
- Flashlight
- Window bug screens
- Folding chairs
- Blankets & pillows
- Garbage bag
Most of these items are pretty straightforward, but one you may overlook are your window bug screens. These will help you enjoy the fresh air all night long while keeping those pesky bugs outside where they belong.
For DIY window treatments, head to your local Dollar Store and purchase some window screens, then simply fix the screen in place with some fridge magnets! If you’re a drive-in regular, you can always opt for the real deal.
When You Arrive
We know you’re dying to burn up that quarter mile, but when you enter the drive-in the speed limit is set at 10km, so be sure to slow down and keep an eye out for children while you find your perfect parking spot. Once you’re settled, make sure you put on your parking brake to keep your car in place and your lights from becoming a distraction during the show. If that doesn’t do the trick, you can always use some of the blankets you packed to dim your lights!
Enjoy The Show!
Now that you’re parked and ready to not roll, it’s time to tune into 99.1FM for screen #1, or 90.9FM for screen #2. Hit the concession stand and grab your favourite drive-in snacks, then break out the blankets and folding chairs and enjoy the show!
The Brackley Drive-In is now open until their season wraps up in October, so be sure to check out their showtimes before making your way out to Brackley for an evening of fun under the stars! In their words, “it’s more than a movie, it’s a memory.”
